Labour send not one, but two candidates to meet riders!
As part of the Riders Are Voters (RAV) campaign, and demonstrating how local voters are taking the initiative, riders in Milton Keynes met with the Candidates for Labour and Lib Dems this morning.
Sadly, although invited, the Conservatives failed to send a representative to meet with the riders. Labour however, sent one for both MK North and South constituencies.
The event was organised by the new local Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) group and Duncan Carter was the driving force, arranging the meeting at Horizon Motorcycle Training at the MK Bowl.
He is grateful to Martin from Horizons for hosting the meeting and to the three candidates who gave the riders time to discuss the many issues affecting the whole motorcycling community.
The parliamentary candidates were, Andrew Pakes (Lab), Dr Phyllis Starkey (Lab) and Jill Hope (Lib-Dem). Jill Hope said that she found the whole experience really useful, especially as she hadn’t been aware of the current DSA situation and that their flawed interpretation of the EU Driving Licence Directive was causing the motorcycle industry such hardship.
